The new series on private aviation was called forth by the many recent events in the commercial aviation that make it harder and harder to use and less and less rewarding. The recent delays and cancellations of nearly 3,100 American Airlines (AA) flights, reminded at least 250,000 passengers how fragile it can be to depend on commercial airlines. The series will strive to show how time, safety, and cost are all interconnected and how using private jet charter or private jet rental can actually be more economically sensible for more individuals. “What Else did American Airlines Delay?” is our first article in this series and is available online. The way between New York and Moscow just got shorter - Luxury Air Jets at the Millionaire Fair.

‘Luxury’ was the name of the game in Moscow’s Millionaire Fair last week. Where else can you stop and shop for a Swarovsky crystal-covered Mercedes, a Gulfstream G550 airplane with a Rolls-Royce engine, an island, and a diamond-covered cell phone on the side - all under the same roof? “After an ‘arduous’ shopping day like this, who wouldn’t want a private jet to take them home?” says Igor Kotlyar - Luxury Air Jets’ CEO. However, this was not the only reason the team of Luxury Air Jets felt right at home. Igor along with Rodney Kadymir – the founders of the company, left Russia as children when it was still very much Communist. Last week they came back ‘to Russia with love’ to participate among 200 other prestigious companies in what is considered the crown jewel of all luxury exhibitions, in the city that Forbes magazine recently recorded as having more millionaires than any other city in the world.

According to a recent research conducted by Merrill Lynch there are 88,000 millionaires living in Russia today – a lot of them are recent millionaires. This is an impressive number; and what is more impressive is when talking number of billionaires, Russia is ranked second after the US. Everybody was at The Crocus Expo: from Bentley, Cartier, and Remy Martin, to Mercedes, Rolex, and Mont Blanc. The event that was covered by all major media networks and which was perfectly timed at the start of the holiday and shopping season, attracted 45,000 visitors – many of them are so-called “new Russians” who could easily afford the luxury items. They made the show very successful for the exhibitors, Luxury Air Jets included. In fact, it was so successful that some visitors were reported to have a “luxury shock”. “This is a perfect market for us”, says Rodney, “It prompt us to open our new office here on Beskudnikovskiy Boulevard.”

Luxury Air Jets Sponsors Benefit for "The Disabled and Hospitalized Veterans" and September 11 Firefighters. The annual cocktail reception to benefit The International Trade, Cultural, and Charity was dedicated this year to the disabled and hospitalized veterans, and to September 11 firefighters. It took place on Thursday, November 15, 2007 at Manhattan Motor Cars in New York City. Cruising between Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche, and Spyker, guests enjoyed gourmet hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, fine art, a silent auction, and an international fashion show by avant-garde designer Grace Edwards. Victoria Secret Model and Cover Girl Cynthia Kirchner opened and closed both shows strutting down the catwalk. “We thought it would be nice to show the beautiful and peaceful side of aircraft to all the veterans of war.”, says Rodney Kadymir - Luxury Air Jets’ Managing Director.

Many international diplomats, members of the press, presidents, CEO’s of Fortune 500 companies, celebrities and royalties attended to show their support. Luxury Air Jets at the NBTA Boston

Luxury Air Jets exhibited in the annual National Business Travel Association (NBTA) which took place in the Boston’s famed Convention & Exhibition Center two weeks ago. This is the world’s largest gathering of international business travel buyers. This was the largest and most successful in the 39-year history of the event with more than 6,200 attendees, including 1,400 travel managers, nearly 100 reporters, and more than 435 exhibitors. The keynote speaker at this year was General Colin Powell, USA (Ret.) (in the picture). Mr. Powell shared his experience as a Former Secretary of State alluding to the travel industry, especially to private aviation. General Powell said he doesn’t normally miss anything in his past. He does, however, really miss having his own private jet!

Luxury Air Jets joined NYCBTA on October 12th at the luxurious Rainbow Room, located on top of NYC Rockefeller Plaza, to meet with some of the most prominent folks in the business travel industry. The discussions covered a full array of business and corporate travel issues such as homeland security, international trade, and technology. As expected, all the speakers touched upon the issue of private jet charter. Peter Greeenberg (in the picture) travel editor for NBC's The Today Show, agreed in his speech that in many cases there is an economic justification for using private jets, especially if flying multiple executives together. The taxi service, he said, is a good idea. David Neeleman - founder and Chairman of JetBlue Airways, shared his thoughts and opinions around the rules and regulations governing the nation's air transportation industry. Mr. Neeleman stressed the fact that a lot of the over crowding of the runways in New York City is caused by private jets. He did not offer a solution but just stated the fact that this industry is growing immensely.

NY Assemblyman Michael Gianaris who was part of the Airline Passengers Bill of Rights, which was passed in August of this year, spoke about the groundbreaking legislation and how New York is dealing with the intolerable delays at its airports, suggesting that it is not surprising that more and more people look for private aviation as a solution. C. Stewart Verdery Jr. who served as the first assistant secretary for policy and planning at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), discussed legislation affecting the business traveler and his current work of delivering public policy results in business travel. Mr. Verdery emphasized the urgency of arriving on time when traveling on business and how private aviation is better at it. Finally, Bill DeCota - Port Authority Director of Airports discussed his responsibility for Kennedy, Newark and LaGuardia airports and the $15 billion public-private redevelopment programs and initiatives presently underway at these airports. Mr. DeCota said that one of the reasons people pursue private aviation is because today private jets receive equal landing opportunities on runways. Luxury Air Jets was one of the 1,152 exhibitors at the 60th Annual Meeting & Convention of the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA). The convention, which was held from September 25 to 27 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, included a magnificent Static Display of Aircraft at the nearby Fulton County Airport. The total attendance number reached more than 32,000.NBAA President and CEO, Ed Bolen, informed everyone that General aviation in the United States leads the world in manufacture and technological advancements. Adopting improved technologies and procedures for navigation and flight safety. General aviation continues to make its voice heard in Washington in the industrys historic fight to stop an attempt by the big airlines to muster congressional support for their plan to shift billions of their costs onto general aviation.

Luxury Air Jets Meets with the US Department of Transportation on Capitol Hill

As a member in the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA), Luxury Air Jets took part in an important initiative of meeting with the US government this week in Washington DC. Other member corporations such as Boeing, Northrop Grumman, AMTRAK, and FedEx that attended this meeting, are all joining the effort to foster partnership between government, military, and industry. This effort is designed to maintain a strong and efficient global transportation and distribution system in support of national security. One of the main topics on the agenda was the National Transportation Week (NTW) which took place in Detroit, May 13-19, 2007; its purpose and scope. One of the events in the NTW was a business breakfast with a panel of leading transportation experts and local officials to discussed how technological advancements are reshaping all sectors of the transportation industry as we know it. Luxury Air Jets, represented by Gadi Capela of Client Relations, is in the opinion that there is a lot of room for cooperation between the government and the private industry. The government should provide the framework and ground rules within which the private industry should operate, and in return, the private industry should provide the government with a profit-making model.
